It has been a trying year for many within the travel sector as the Covid-19 regulations have brought live entertainment to a virtual standstill this year. But with holidaymakers desperate to get away and bookings within the UK at an all time high, those with larger resorts are looking to add live music at resorts as a matter of priority.
Those with higher visitor numbers are perhaps in a better position to absorb the additional costs and regulations that are now required in a post Covid-19 era. Sights like Away Resorts are working hard to ensure that they are fully compliant and indeed, able to put on live shows for their paying customers.
For smaller operations, it can prove more difficult. There are strict requirements for signing people in and out of attendances and there are other protocols that are also required, such as a minimum of 2 metres between tables and extensive cleaning required in between sittings. There is also the increased cost of additional PPE required for staff at any venue offering live entertainment. With so much uncertainty around the ever changing landscape regarding what venues can and can’t do at this particularly difficult time, it may be that many venues simply opt to postpone any form of live singing or entertainment until the situation is back under control. This would be understandable given the higher costs and legal requirements over offering such a service to their customers.Follow WebBandStand for everything that is cool that matters.
